Senior Anatel officials plan to meet with directors of TIM in pursuit of a way to enable the Italian-owned telco to start delivering commercial service under its PCS licenses. Luiz Guilherme Schymura, director-general of Anatel, says he?s willing to include Opportunity, a shareholder in Brasil Telecom alongside Telecom Italia. TIM took the initiative to propose a resumption of talks with Anatel, Mr Schymura says, adding that Anatel wants to get TIM up and running because as regulator it has the interests of consumers at heart. However, he insists that Brasil Telecom must fulfill its regulatory targets first. Meetings between Anatel and TIM begin this week, according to Mr Schymura.
