Anatel began the auction of PCS leftovers in D and E bands on Tuesday, November 12. Seven bids were submitted by subsidiaries of four groups: TNL-PCS Participações (linked to Telemar, which controls Oi); Vésper SMP S.A. and Brasaville (Qualcomm); Alecam Telecomunicações, Albra Telecomunicações, Stemar Telecomunicações (ATL/Telecom Americas); and Brasil Telecom. It isn?t possible yet to say which areas each bid is for, since the rules require delivery of envelopes for all areas even if they?re empty. The envelopes will be opened on Tuesday, November 19.
