Anatel has issued a bidding notice for an auction of frequencies in the 3.5 GHz and 10.5 GHz bands, with delivery of bid envelopes on January 21. The notice was published in the Federal Register (Diário Oficial da União) on Monday, November 18. Two groups of six pairs of 1.75 MHz frequency blocks in the 3.5 GHz band and two groups of two pairs of 7 MHz blocks in the 10.5 GHz band will be auctioned for each of the three regions in the General Licensing Plan (Portuguese-language acronym PGO). For numbering areas, four groups of four pairs of 1.75 MHz blocks will be auctioned at 3.5 GHz and four pairs of 7 MHz at 10.5 GHz. Bids will be opened on January 28 for 3.5 GHz frequencies and February 11 for 10.5 GHz. Licenses will last 15 years and will be renewable for another 15 years.
