A director of one of BCP?s creditor banks has told TELETIME News that he was consulted by an executive of Telecom Americas about progress or lack of it in negotiations with the cellular carrier?s controlling shareholders. In an informal conversation the executive said Telecom Americas is interested in acquiring BCP but only if there?s a debt-for-equity swap.
The same source said it?s ?highly unlikely? that the price paid for BCP would be 700 million US Dollars, which would correspond to 412 USD per subscriber and a discount of 50% on the debt.
