Meeting with the CCISE

The Space Systems Coordination and Implementation Commission (CCISE) is responsible for the Strategic Space Systems Program (PESE), which was created to attend the strategic needs of the Brazilian society and its armed forces through the long-term implementation of dual-use (military and civilian) projects for Defense Space Systems. Representatives of the CCISE will be at the Latin American Satellite Congress to hear from industry representatives about solutions and technologies that fit Brazilian needs.

Interested candidates may submit their presentation proposals on any of the specific topics listed below. Presentations will be heard by the CCISE during the Latin American Satellite Congress to be held in Rio de Janeiro, September 26 and 27, 2019.
The presentations selected by the event organizers will be delivered to the CCISE in a private and exclusive room and will serve to support the Commission in its planning processes.

Proposals are due by July 14th, 2019, after which they will go through a selection process by the organizers of the Latin American Satellite Congress with the support of the CCISE. Selected presentations will be part of the “Defense Meeting.”
Presentations will be given on September 26th or 27th 2019, following a pre-defined schedule in a private room and in parallel with the Latin American Satellite Congress. The duration for each presentation will be 45 minutes (15 minutes presentation and 30 minutes Q&A).
The general public will not have access to these presentations.

CCSIE selected presentation topics:

Proposals will be accepted on the topics listed below. Off-topic suggestions may be submitted but will not receive priority in the selection process. Presentations should be planned for a maximum duration of 15 minutes.

About the ALCÂNTARA Space Center (Centro Espacial de Alcântara – CEA):

1) Business perspective and business vision to the Alcântara Space Center;

About the ATTICORA project:

1) Low-orbit, narrow-band and broadband communications systems for military use;
2) Portable terrestrial systems that use Low Orbit Communications Systems;
3) Potential for the national industry in the development / acquisition of Low Orbit Communications Systems;
4) Absorption capacity of technologies related to Low Orbit Communications Systems by the national industry;
5) Comparison of the Cost / Benefit relation related to Low Orbit Communications Systems in the Ka and UHF bands. Other frequencies may be included;
6) Low Orbit Communications Systems as a solution for mobile communications in a jungle environment;
7) Low Orbit Communications Systems and military and civil monitoring applications in isolated areas, borders, jungle, among others.

About the LESSONIA project:

1) Architectures capable to overcome the theoretical contradiction of the radar equation that makes it impossible to associate high spatial resolution with a large swath;
2) Use of Digital Beamforming associated with Offset Reflector antennas;
3) Techniques that allow the detection of fine scale scene changes, after some orbital passages of a SAR satellite;
4) Techniques that allow the detection of changes of scene below the canopy, allowing the identification of tracks and other changes close to the ground;
5) Mixed architecture, including LESSONIA in constellations already in operation;
6) Payload (including antenna) capable of being associated with the Multi-Mission Platform (PMM), of INPE;
7) Payload (including antenna) implementing Compact Polarimetry, especially in hybrid mode, rather than Full Polarimetry (or Full Pol);
8) Business models for the exchange of images among other constellations, once the Mission LESSONIA has been launched;
9) Business models aimed at transferring technology for the benefit of the mission LESSONIA;
10) Possible platforms and products for the LESSONIA-1 mission.

Proposal Submission

Proposals must be submitted by July 14th, 2019 to satelites@glasberg.com.br, with the title “CCISE Presentation Proposal – NAME OF YOUR COMPANY” on the subject line. Each proposal must include a presentation title, an abstract of up to 10 lines, and name and profile of the presenter, including position, job title and relevant biographical data. In the case of more than one speaker, the alloted time will be shared and the above information must be provided for each individual (name, job title and position).. Proposals must also include an email address, phone number and position of the contact person for future communication.

Proposal Evaluation

Proposals will be analyzed by the Latin American Satellite Congress organizers, with the support of the CCISE, by July 14th 2019. Selected presentations will be confirmed by email or telephone, along with allotted times and additional information. Presentations may be scheduled any time between 9 am and 5 pm on September 26th or 27th 2019, in Rio de Janeiro.

Participation Terms

Any company and/or consulting firm may submit a proposal. However, speakers must be duly registered for the event before their presentations can be scheduled. For additional registration information please go to www.satelitesbrasil.com.br.
